The beautiful town of
Damascus, Virginia
has many interesting stores that serve both the friendly locals
and the thousands of tourists who visit each year, and a new one
recently opened for business. Owners Danny Davis and Barbara Blevins
opened the wonderful Danny's Candy Store & Nostalgic Gifts
just in time to satisfy the sweet tooth of the numerous hikers who
attended this year's
Trail Days
celebration.
Cheria
and I have known about Danny's Candy Store for some time, and
yesterday evening we finally got a chance to drop in and check it
out. Our jaws just about hit the floor when we saw the seemingly
endless row of candy and the wide selection of wonderful
nostalgic gifts that lined the walls! In addition to virtually every type and flavor of candy imaginable,
they also have many collectible items including tin signs,
old-fashioned wind-up tin toys, collectible John Deere and Farmall
farm tractors and implements, vintage photos, gift baskets...and a
delightful train that runs around the entire shop, reminiscent of
the Virginia
Creeper that steamed its way through the heart of Damascus for
so many years!
Danny and Barbara invite you to drop in and satisfy your own sweet
tooth - you're virtually guaranteed to find exactly what you're
looking for in Danny's Candy Store, even "long ago" candy bars like
Coconut Flag Bar, Sky Bar, Chuckles and lots,
lots more.
And while you're there, be sure to check out the many nostalgic
collectible items and that awesome train. Danny can install
one of them in your home or office as well!
Danny's
Candy Store & Nostalgic Gifts is located at 124 E. Laurel Avenue in
beautiful Damascus, Virginia.
