Faith Duncan Singing At The Carter Fold

Cheria and I went to the
Carter
Fold last night to see
The
Boohers, one of our favorite
Bluegrass music
bands. As always, they put on an exceptional show, treating the
audience to some of the finest pickin' and singin' I've ever heard.
These folks were absolutely great the first time I heard them
several years ago, yet somehow they just keep getting better and
better with every performance!
Stepping onto a stage right after a Boohers performance can be
intimidating to say the least, but last night young Faith Duncan did
just that - and her performance was the highlight of the show! As it
turns out, 7 year old Faith is one of Dale Jett's biggest fans. She
knows every song on his latest CD by heart, and last night Dale
invited her onto the Carter Fold stage during the intermission to
help him and his good friend Oscar Harris sing the
A.P. Carter gospel classic "Anchored in Love".
Faith
sang right along with Dale and Oscar, loud and clear in perfect harmony without
missing even one word - and she received a standing ovation at the
end. This young lady is without a doubt one of the most talented 7
year olds on the face of the planet.
Dale Jett is the third generation of the famous Carter Family to
make great traditional music. Along with his sister Rita Forrester and many
others, Dale is doing a great job at keeping the legacy and music of
A.P., Sara and Maybelle alive and thriving. And hopefully,
youngsters like Faith Duncan will always be around to help carry
that torch
in the years to come.
