Nepal is called the rooftop of the world, and for good reason - within
her boundaries lies the pinnacle of Mount Everest, the tallest mountain on
planet earth.
Most people are familiar with Nepal's towering peaks, but few Americans are aware of the
beautiful Rapti river that flows through the sub-tropical inner Terai region of
the country.
Royal Chitwan National Park and the Rapti river basin are among Asia's most interesting
tourist destinations. The park is home to 450 species of
birds and 43 species of mammals, including the endangered horned rhinoceros.
Visitors to Chitwan and the Rapti river area can take guided tours that feature
the diverse wildlife and some amazing Nepali scenery. As today's picture of the
sun setting over the Rapti river shows, Nepal has much more to offer her
visitors than just rocks and mountains.
When you visit this mysterious country, you will find an awesome diversity of
natural beauty and wildlife waiting for you to enjoy at your leisure. Nepal
truly offers a vacation experience like no other!
