A Colorful Water Tower In Wytheville, VA

Today's picture features a colorful water tower in the small town of Wytheville, Virginia. Painted to look like a hot air balloon, Wytheville's water tower receives a lot of attention from passing motorists as they travel along Interstate 81. But Wytheville isn't alone in having a painted water tower. Many localities across the United States have painted their towers and tanks as a way of expressing their individuality or showcasing a local item of interest. An excellent example is the nearby town of Marion which has taken a comical approach by marking their twin water storage tanks HOT and COLD.
