Pluto is the ninth planet from the sun. There is a bit of controversy over whether Pluto should in fact be classified as a planet or some other type of object.
Note: Some astronomers have decided to strip Pluto of her
"Planet" status and henceforth refer to her as a "minor
planet" - sort of a glorified asteroid. Other astronomers
favor keeping Pluto listed as a planet in its own right. You
of course are free to decide for yourself.
