Close-Up Of A Beach Sunflower Blossom
Photo submitted
by Tom Choma.
Today's picture features a close-up view of a Beach Sunflower blossom.
Beach Sunflowers are very widespread - their normal range extends east from
Texas along the gulf coast, throughout all of Florida and along the eastern
seaboard as far north as the Carolinas.
Beach sunflowers are very hardy plants. They're resistant to drought and salt and they do very well in dry sand and on coastal grasslands. If you visit the coast almost anywhere in the southeastern United States you'll see plenty of these beautiful flowers.
Tom Choma took this amazing photo of a Beach Sunflower while hiking in Florida.
It is one of his favorite flowers!
