Lilium Longiflorum
Type: Perennial
Easter Lilies are native to Japan, but today they're found in flower gardens all around the world. While beautiful, Easter Lily blossoms fade away fairly quickly.
Plant Easter Lily bulbs in fertile soil where they will receive lots of sunshine. It's still relatively cool when they bloom in the spring, so the sunshine will help "wake them up". Water only when the soil is dry to the touch.
Fertilize your Easter Lilies in the fall and apply a layer of mulch to help protect the bulbs from the winter cold.
Easter Lilies make a great companion plant for crocuses since they both bloom early. Mixed into your flower garden along with flowers that bloom later, Easter Lilies help ensure that you will always have some flowers in bloom!
