Fescue Bluegrass Band
Today's picture features Fescue, one of the Mountain Empire's best and
most popular Bluegrass music bands as they picked and sang at last night's
Song Of The Mountains concert at the historic Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Va.
Fescue has been making great
Bluegrass music for some 20 years, and their finely-tuned harmonies and
super-tight instrumental work shows it. These guys love to pick and sing and the
audience loved their performance so I'm sure we'll be seeing them on the Song
Of The Mountains stage at the Lincoln again real soon!
The roots of Bluegrass and Old-Time music are firmly planted in the hills and
"hollers" of our region, and the Song Of The Mountains concert series
showcases the many wonderful musicians, singers and groups that live here. These
wonderful shows are performed live at the Lincoln Theatre, and most of them are
taped for later broadcast on Blue Ridge Public Television and other PBS
stations around the country.
