Rick, this just might be the dumbest question you’ve ever received, but I have to ask it anyway because I’m a complete novice when it comes to anything other than checking my email and surfing the Internet. Seven months ago I bought a new HP desktop PC and I love it. The thing is my mouse stopped working the other day and a friend told me it has probably gone bad.
I went to Wal-Mart and bought a new mouse and now the little arrow pointer moves around the screen so fast that it’s hard to select or click on anything. My question is this: How on earth do I slow down the mouse pointer? Please help!!!! –Maya Freilich
Answer:
Trust me Maya, this is NOT the dumbest question I’ve ever received. This is a real easy problem to fix. Here’s how:
1 – Click on the Start Button
2 – Click Control Panel
3 – Click Hardware and Sound
4 – Click Mouse
5 – Click Pointer Options
6 – Move the Select a Pointer Speed slider to the Slowside until you’re hapy with the results.
7 – Click OK
Alternatively you can do this:
1 – Click Start
2 – Click Control Panel
3 – Type the word Mouse into the Search Box
4 – Click Change the mouse pointer display or speed
5 – Adjust the speed to your liking
6 – Click OK
There you go! Now your mouse should be back under your complete control. One thing to keep in mind at times like this is that it can be a little difficult to find what you’re looking for in the Control Panel, especially when you’re in a hurry. Always remember this: The Search box is your friend.
