Summer weddings are light and breezy by definition. Set the tone for your summer soiree by choosing a color palette which suits the season. Heree are some of the freshest colors for summer weddings:
Citrus Colors – Think about how refreshing a glass of ice cold fresh squeezed lemonade is on a steamy summer afternoon. That is just the effect you will achieve when you choose a palette of citrus colors for your summer wedding. Mix and match lemon yellow, lime green, and tangerine orange with abandon, as they all flow together beautifully.
An easy way to introduce this color combination is to use real fruit as part of the wedding decorations. Fill clear cylinders or footed vases with fresh lemons, limes, and tangerines for centerpieces. They can be made more elaborate by topping them with floral arrangements, or let the fruit make the statement. Choose one of the signature hues for the bridesmaid dresses and jewelry sets, bringing the full color palette together in their bouquets. Lightweight chiffon or organza dresses will be especially wonderful in the citrus shades.
Apricot and Cream – This is an ultra-romantic color pairing for a summer wedding. Apricot is just different enough from the more expected pink hues to give it a unique and personal feeling. This would be a stunning color palette for a wedding at an historical mansion. If you wish to make it more sophisticated, add charcoal gray accents. To make it more garden-inspired, add in hints of a soft sage green.
The apricot color is flattering for bridesmaid dresses in any fabric, and creamy pearl bridesmaid jewelry sets are the perfect accessories. Set out silver vases overflowing with garden roses, sweet peas, and cream hydrangeas for the most romantic centerpieces.
Teal and Spring Green – Water inspired color palettes always feel fresh for summer nuptials. The blueish-green of the teal paired with a light greenish-yellow spring green is fantastic for an outdoor wedding, especially near the water. Play up the freshness of this color combination by using it in bold stripes with cream and deep cerulean accents.
If you wish to make a teal and green palette more elegant, selective use of metallic gold accents will do the trick. Use gold for small touches, like bouquet wraps, chargers under the place settings, and as the ribbon on the favor boxes.
Flamingo Pink – It just wouldn’t be summer without pink, and bright flamingo is the ideal shade. Festive and vibrant, feminine but bold, it is a marvelous choice for a summer wedding. Layer flamingo pink with fuchsia and pale pink for gorgeous tonal effect. Ombre chiffon bridesmaid dresses would be fabulous in this color family. Silver bridesmaid jewelry sets will be a nice detail with the bold and busy dresses.
Flamingo pink also pairs well with clementine orange and apple green if you wish to create a more colorful palette for your wedding. These colors would look especially gorgeous in mixed flower bouquets and centerpieces.
In general, when choosing a summer wedding color palette, saturated and bright hues will tend to feel the most fresh and seasonal. Some other lovely colors to consider include canary yellow, bright lilac, and magenta. The vibrant colors will give your summer wedding celebration a spirited and festive atmosphere.
