Sage's First Airplane Flight
Today's picture features my "grandson" Sage enjoying his first ride in
an airplane. Sage's "mom" Amy and her boyfriend Gene are certainly no
strangers to airplanes - Amy's job involves a lot of traveling and she has
already racked up more frequent-flier miles in just a few short years than most
people log in a lifetime. She and Gene also fly virtually every weekend in
conjunction with their skydiving activities.
But Sage had never been aboard a plane until a few weeks ago when Amy and Gene
decided the time had come for him to take to the wild blue yonder. Since Gene is
a licensed pilot, all they had to do was rent a small plane for an hour or so
and take off...and take off they did!
At first Sage seemed excited, looking all around, both inside and outside the plane
- just
like an inquisitive child. But also like a child, he apparently became bored
and fell fast asleep after just a few minutes. It's hard to say how much Sage
enjoyed his first airplane flight, but Amy and Gene had a ball!
If you have never had the opportunity to take an airplane flight yourself but
you have always wanted to, it's easy to do so. And the cost is very reasonable
for making a lifetime dream come true. Simply
visit your local general aviation airport, rent a plane and hire a pilot (or
perhaps an instructor). Who knows, you just might decide to take flying lessons
and get your own pilot's license so you can fly into the wild blue yonder any time you wish. If not, at least you will
know what it's like to ride in an airplane!
