Steele Creek Park - Bristol, TN
Click photo to enlarge
Many residents of the Mountain Empire have spent some time at
Bristol,
Tennessee's Steele Creek Park enjoying the trails and the
beautiful lake, and for good reason. At 2,000+ acres, Steele Creek
is the third largest municipal park in the state, and every bit of
it is absolutely gorgeous.
Yesterday afternoon I took a leisurely walk along scenic Steele
Creek, snapping a few pictures along the way. The views of Steele
Creek Lake are hard to beat, but I prefer spending my time enjoying
the scenery along the creek - especially on the hot, muggy days that
are typical for the Bristol area.
The spot featured in today's picture is just a hundred yards or so
from the place where Steele Creek flows into the lake. The short
walking trails and footbridges in that area of the park were
deserted yesterday afternoon except for a young boy and teenage girl who rode past me on
their bicycles after stopping a couple of times to wade in the
creek. It was a perfect picture-taking afternoon, and as always, I
really enjoyed my visit to Steele Creek Park.
