Windows XP has a very annoying error reporting feature. When a system error occurs, a box pops up asking if you want to report the error to Microsoft. Most people don't. If you're one of them, you can simply disable error reporting altogether.
Here's how:
- Right click My Computer
- Click Properties
- Click Advanced
- Click Error Reporting
- Select the Disable error reporting radio button
- Check the box beside But notify me when critical errors occur
- Click Ok
Error reporting to Microsoft is now turned off but you'll still be notified by the system when an error occurs.
