Red, White And Yellow Tulips
Since Cheria and I moved into our new home in late autumn, we had to wait all
winter to see what kinds of flowers would come up in our flower beds this
spring. Much to our delight we have already had colorful
crocuses, brilliant
daffodils, and some yet to be identified small purple flowers come up and
blossom. But the prettiest of the bunch burst into full bloom just last week:
dozens of spectacular red, white and yellow tulips!
Tulips have always been one of my favorite flowers. I still remember how
mom and
dad used to drive our family past homes that had beautiful tulips growing in
their flower gardens and how my eyes would be drawn to the seas of color they
produced. It seems that tulips have the power to single-handedly turn a ho-hum
lawn into a work of art.
The tulips in today's picture border our front sidewalk, but there are plenty more
that are mixed in with the other flowers in the back yard. It's exiting to think
about
what variety of flowers will bloom next, but I doubt if they'll match the beauty
and grace our colorful tulips!
