Hauling Brush
Back in April I finally got around to burning the six large
brush piles that were left
after cleaning out the fence row that parallels the road that runs by our
property. Now, I find myself creating yet another huge pile of brush while
clearing the banks of the creek that runs along the other side of the same long
field.
Although the area I'm clearing now is pretty close to the same size as the one I
cleared last time, the job is getting done much faster this time around for
several reasons. First of all, there is no fence to remove. There are also fewer
trees and wild rose bushes to contend with. But the most important factor is the
equipment I'm using...
Instead of doing all the cutting with a brush axe, I'm now using a small
Homelite chain saw which makes quick work of the scrub trees and brush. Better
still, instead of carrying the logs and brush to the nearest brush pile, I'm now
loading it onto the small trailer that came with my hefty Husqvarna lawn
tractor! I just fill up the trailer, haul the brush over to the pile, and dump
it!
I'll never be a lumberjack, but now clearing the brush from our property is a
breeze!
Last time around I used my back to do the hardest parts of the job. This time
I'm using technology. Believe me, technology is better.
