Tim Laughlin Performing During Trail Days
The 2006 Appalachian
Trail Days Celebration is now in full swing in beautiful
Damascus, Virginia, and as always there is plenty
of live music being performed each day at the town park gazebo. The fine
Bluegrass band Fast Train
was the first group to perform yesterday evening, and they put on a great show.
I captured today's picture by peeking through the lattice of the gazebo.
Fast Train features some of the best musicians and singers around, including one
of the most accomplished fiddle and mandolin players you'll ever see - Tim
Laughlin. Tim's talents and artistry are much in demand as both an
instructor and performer. When he isn't teaching fiddle and mandolin lessons at
Bristol, Tennessee's
JJ's House Of Music, he can usually be found on a stage somewhere performing
with one of several local Bluegrass groups that he works with.
Bluegrass music is very popular here in the Birthplace Of Country Music
region, and wonderful people like Tim Laughlin are working hard to expand its
influence and pass the love of the Bluegrass sound on to the younger folks.
Thanks for all you do Tim, and we hope you never stop teaching and making great music!
